Aldinga welcomes brand new vegan eatery, The Village Groove Café

22 year old Lucy Potter has opened her first cafe in the heart of the Aldinga Arts Ecovillage and it’s 100% plant-based.

Not many 22 year olds can say they’ve opened a cafe, but Lucy Potter can.

Lucy is the creative mind behind Aldinga’s brand new vegan eatery, The Village Groove Café.

Sitting in the heart of the Aldinga Arts Ecovillage, the café boasts a 100% vegan menu.

The Village Groove Café celebrated its opening over the weekend. There was a great turn out, with Lucy saying it was very well received by all patrons.

Lucy along with her sister, Kate, and mother, Tanya, is serving up some seriously good vegan snacks. From croissants to bagels to bruschetta and even a 100% vegan cheese platter.

The Village Groove Café name comes from Lucy’s fascination with the 60s and 70s eras.

The cafe is adorned with yellow and orange (Lucy’s favourite colours) interiors that give the café a cute, retro vibe.

All of the furniture used has been sourced secondhand and fits in with the ethos of the Aldinga Arts Ecovillage sustainable practices.

The Village Groove Café has some delicious plant-based smoothies too! Choose between a mango and strawberry, pineapple and coconut, berries and banana or an indulgent peanut butter and banana smoothie combo.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the cafe has limited capacity indoors. Fortunately, there is also an outdoor dining area for you to enjoy the Village Grooves great offerings while you lap up the sun’s rays.

The Village Groove is currently trading Thursday and Friday from 7 am til’ 2 pm, and Saturday and Sundays from 8am – 3pm.

There are plans to expand trading hours soon. Lucy hopes to open on Mondays and potentially offer dinner options too.

The Village Groove Café can be found at the Aldinga Arts EcoVillage, Lot 10a 173 Port Road, Aldinga.
