Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Naturally Tan written and read by Tan France.

In this heartfelt, funny, touching memoir, Tan France, star of Netflix’s Emmy award-winning Queer Eye, tells his origin story for the first time. With his trademark wit, humour and radical compassion, Tan reveals what it was like to grow up gay in a traditional South Asian family, as one of the few people of colour in South Yorkshire. He illuminates his winding journey of coming of age, finding his voice (and style!) and happily marrying the love of his life - a Mormon cowboy from Salt Lake City.

Humorous and poignant personal essays are peppered with style advice, funny lists and the truisms that Tan has accumulated in his journey from South Yorkshire to Netflix.

In Tan's own words, 'The book is meant to spread joy, personal acceptance and most of all understanding. Each of us is living our own private journey, and the more we know about each other, the healthier and happier the world will be.'

Phenomenal, funny, wise and touching.

This is probably one of the most entertaining books I've ever read/listened to. Tan has such a natural way of coming across to readers/listeners and he had me laughing the whole way through.

Modern, real and charming! Love it.

I loved JVN then I loved Karamo’s audible books. What a gorgeous bunch of successful human beings. I’m fan of the show but I stopped watching for a while and now I’ve come back to it. These books are giving a great backstory to some lovely human beings. I have absolutely loved listening to them all. I don’t know if Tan France’s book will be everyone’s cup of tea, but as he says he doesn’t give a fuck, and that is his absolute point of charm. One of his keys to success. He moves on from things and is self assured. Being an Australian expat Canadian I really appreciate his dry humour!! Tan is funny! I also really enjoyed the deeper elements of his book - the honesty. The best part is that it’s punctuated with some great life advice, advice you might get from an auntie, your favourite gay uncle or big sister, it’s about how to present yourself. Enjoy it for that. Also it’s great as an audible book. Good use of the medium.

It was ok

Tan has an interesting story, as does everyone. You can tell throughout the book it's been very edited in his reading of the book and doesn't sound natural.
For someone who's been through such a criticised life of being a person of colour and a person in same sex relationship, he's very judgemental of others. I understand being blunt, but it's a bit much.
I'm listening to all the queer eye books, so I finished it to tick the box and I'm glad I listened as there parts of the book which gave good perspective, but overall it wasn't the best.
