We are delighted to invite you to the Joint RCS England (Surgical Trials Initiative) and NIHR Clinical Research Network (National Surgery Specialty Group) Research Event on Tuesday 16 November 2021 at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Lincolns Inn Field, London.
At this event we will showcase and celebrate the remarkable progress made in clinical surgical research across the UK over the past ten years. The day will include:
- Updates on RCS England research activities
- Surgical Trials Initiative
- Global Surgery
- COVID Research Group
- Device and Registries Group
In addition we will be discussing initiatives from the NIHR CRN including the Associate PI Scheme as well as proposals for new collaborative networking and research delivery and development activities across all surgical specialities.
We will be welcoming you all to the newly rebuilt home of RCS England at this event, which will be a great opportunity to network and create new collaborations between NIHR and RCS England.
We will be joined by Professor Lucy Chappell, recently appointed Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), who will give a keynote lecture on her vision for the next era of clinical research in surgery.
